Art Bergstrom a longtime member and volunteer, now adds Legacy Society member to his growing list of contributions to the Minnesota Historical Society. Art recently notified us of a bequest he has made to the Society in support of our work here in the area of conservation.
Art retired from the Minnesota Department of Transportation and has been a life member of the National Model Railroaders Association. Art's love of transportation (all forms) brought him to the History Center to do research over twenty years ago. Art stated, "I'm so glad that you are keeping track of history!" This is a sentiment shared by and others just like him who have included the Society in their estate plans.
Art learned about charity and philanthropy at an early age. "An allowance could be spent or saved, but something always needed to go into the plate at church...every little bit helps." Art says, "it is good to do good." This philosophy of sharing has carried him well through his life and as a result he has made plans to remember many of his favorite organizations in this same way.
The Arthur Bergstrom Fund for Conservation will be used to support a variety of activities related to conservation including the preservation of documents, artifacts, and other items the Society deems important, or other uses which promote conservation for the Minnesota Historical Society.
